A MESSAGE TO OUR HOPE TRI-CITIES FAMILY

Pastor Angel & Laura's Weekly Update
Tuesday, March 24, 2020

Dear HOPE family,

We miss you! We know this has been a very difficult week for many of you. We want to let you know that we are with you, we love you, and we miss you! We have some important things coming up that we want to share with you. But first, it was so fun and encouraging to see so many people online on Sunday on Facebook or YouTube for our Sunday Livestream. We were so excited to see new people tune in, read all your comments, and to see everyone engaging. It shows how much we crave community, even though community looks different right now! We will do it again this Sunday at 10AM and 5PM. Share the link with friends and invite others into community with you!

Speaking of community, there are three things we want you to grab onto this week. First, we are going to start online daily devotionals through one chapter a day of the books of Philippians, Galatians, and Ephesians. We will post videos from staff and ministry leaders on Facebook and YouTube as well as daily readings for you to follow along and comment on. If you haven’t joined our HOPETC Community Facebook Group, find it here and you’ll see our daily posts.

Second, this Thursday at 7PM you are invited to our VIRTUAL ALL-CHURCH PRAYER MEETING! To join our meeting, from your computer or phone, click https://zoom.us/j/4798153194. If you haven’t used Zoom yet, go to https://www.zoom.us/signup to create a free account. Download the Zoom app to your phone or computer and click our meeting link. If you would like to dial in by phone (voice only), call 346.248.7799 and enter Meeting ID: 4798153194#. We will pray for our church, our community, our nation, and our globe. And, it will be great to see your faces!

Finally, we are launching a Crisis Communication Tree this week so that leaders from HOPE can reach out to you to communicate important information and to hear how you are doing, any needs you may have, and how we can pray for you. You can always reach out to us through Facebook, email at office@htc.church, or calling the HOPE office at 509.946.6804. We love you and can’t wait to see you again soon!

Much love,

Pastor Angel and Laura Esquivel
Our HOPE family,

Psalm 112:6-9 says, “Their circumstances will never shake them and others will never forget their example. They will not live in fear or dread of what may come, for their hearts are firm, ever secure in their faith. Steady and strong, they will not be afraid, but will calmly face their every foe until they all go down in defeat. Never stingy and always generous to those in need, their lives of influence and honor will never be forgotten, for they were full of good deeds.”

In this season of grappling with COVID-19, social distancing, and changing how we connect as the body of Christ, this passage is our plan and how we will operate.

For the remainder of March, in accordance with the State of Washington and the United States Centers for Disease Control, we will suspend all groups and gatherings meeting here on campus at HOPE. This includes Celebrate Recovery, on-campus small groups, and Rooted. We are operating with wisdom and making this decision to care for the vulnerable members of our body. However, we will still connect as the body of Christ, just not in the same room.

We will provide an online live-stream Sunday service at 10AM and at 5PM on Facebook Live, YouTube, and this website that will include worship, sermon, any information or instructions, and the ability to interact and engage with each other online. Our youth and children’s ministries teams are currently designing plans to keep our families, youth and kids connected as well. Additionally, we are creating ways for small groups to connect online through video and phone conferencing.

This is an important moment for the church to rise up in faith and to unleash hope where we live. You have an opportunity to serve our community with your talents and gifts. We all have an opportunity to reach out to those around us in our neighborhood and our community with the love of Jesus. Please take a moment and go to http://www.htc.church/serve to let us know how you can be a part of the team.

Thank you for your faithful generosity during this time. Your giving to HOPE Tri-Cities and to other non-profits is vital. Please stay faithful in your giving because the needs do not go away. You can continue to give online at http://www.htc.church/give or mail your check to 700 Comstock Street, Richland, WA 99352.

Finally, please know that we are praying for you. We are here for you. If you have needs, comments, questions, please reach out. We love you and are so thankful that we are called to serve and care for the HOPE Tri-Cities family.

Much love,
Pastor Angel, Laura, and the HOPE Tri-Cities team
